Welcome! Bienvenue!
I want you to close your eyes for a moment and imagine that you are in France. Go ahead, I’ll be here when you’re ready to come back……
What did you see? Were you walking along the Seine or gazing up at the Eiffel Tower? Perhaps you were strolling by a boulangerie and caught a whiff of freshly baked baguettes and brioches. Or maybe you stopped to look at lovely pastries displayed in the window of a pâtisserie. Art lovers may have been at the Louvre searching for the elusive Mona Lisa. And coffee lovers were likely sitting on the terrace of a café, with their perfect little cup of espresso in hand, watching the world go by. Sounds divine, doesn’t it? These are all images we have come to know and love about France, Paris in particular. I love Paris too and it will always have a special place in my heart.
In this blog, I will be highlighting another charming part of France – the region of la Bretagne (Brittany). Brittany is located in northwestern France, a few hours’ drive or train ride from Paris. Brittany captured my heart several years ago, finding her way into my very soul, and it is there that I plan to call home one day. While I currently live in the United States, I travel to Brittany as often as I can, and for as long as I can with my work schedule and tourist visa limits.
I created a lifestyle and travel blog to bring friends, family, and new readers along as I buy my morning croissant, choose some fresh produce and cheese at the weekly market, hop on a train to explore medieval castles or take a leisurely boat ride down the river. If you like the ocean, we’ll dip our toes in the water and walk along the sandy beach together. We will certainly have no shortage of new and exciting places to explore.
If you are a new or seasoned traveler, I’ll have plenty of recommendations for you. Perhaps you are a mental traveler, and want to have these experiences from the comfort of your own home. This blog is for you too! I will introduce you to some of the locals, as getting to know the people here is a huge part of the experience. You’ll also see how I navigate obstacles that inevitably arise. I will share some of the legends from this area, for enchanted forests and castles are plentiful here. You may even pick up some French phrases along the way!
If you are someone who loves to eat their way through a destination, who is eager to try the local cuisine, then this blog is most certainly for you! While this is a land known for its cheese, sausage, and fresh seafood, I will include some vegetarian and vegan dining options too.
Are you a solo traveler, or maybe have considered solo travel? Guess what? This blog is for you as well! I have spent a LOT of time traveling alone and have quite a few helpful tips on how to feel confident about your decision to travel solo, how to “be” alone in a new place, give you ideas for things to do when traveling solo, how to travel safely, and how to meet people and make new friends.
Intrigued? I hope so! This will, therefore, be more than a travel site; it will be an opportunity for you to become immersed in Breton culture. I want this to be an interactive experience for you, so after you’ve subscribed and read my posts, please leave a comment. I can’t wait to take you on this journey with me!
à bientôt!

Good morning from South Florida! I waited until this morning so I could savor your prose and photos over a leisurely cup of coffee—cherry coffee with Oreo creamer. Yum! But it would be even better with a crepe 😉
Thank you for transporting me back to la Bretagne. It has been years, but it was lovely.
Your blog is delicious!

Thank you, Lori! What a lovely comment to read first thing this morning. I’m very intrigued by this oreo creamer you mentioned. If there’s oreo, perhaps there’s a peanut butter chocolate chip as well? Wouldn’t THAT be something!!!
I’m so glad you were taken back to beautiful Brittany through my post. I hope to take you back again in the future. Until then, have a fabulous day. Bring back some of that sunshine, pretty please!
